    I don't seem to be allowed to add topics due to permission errors but I was wondering if it was ok to use python with the django framework for the project or homework

      Yes, it should be OK. Make sure that you can fulfill all of the requirements for the assignment though (ex, the homeworks specifically list features that you must use from your component framework). We can not support you (in the technical sense) in any way if you use django though - you are completely on your own for any problems you run into.
